John Gorrell is the assistant pastor and piano player at the McCorkle FWB Church, in Sod WV. John became a Christian at the age of 5 (1975) and was called to preach at the age of 13 (1983). In all, John has been serving the Lord for almost 50 years and preaching the Gospel for over 40 years.
John’s favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? John’s goal in ministry, is to create a cross cultural vehicle, through which every person hears the Gospel, and has a valid opportunity to spiritually mature.
John also enjoys using his God given talents in the music ministry at McCorkle, and many other Churches in the area.
John has been married to his beautiful bride (Dianna) since 2/14/1992. Dianna and John have 3 wonderful children and2 grandchildren who keep them extremely busy! John and Dianna attended Welch College, where John received his bachelor’s degree in ministry and psychology. John went on to earn a master’s degree in counseling and Human Development at Lyndsay Wilson Methodist University in Kentucky.
